Milestones 1985 - Founder Norman O’Donnell introduces his first pet bed— the “Snoozer Round,” with a washable polyester/cotton outer cover, sturdy brass zipper, and a removable inner liner. 1989 - President George H. W. Bush and wife Barbara bought two royal blue Snoozer pillow beds for First Dog Millie, their Springer Spaniel who later produced a litter of pups, and authored a best-selling book of her life in the White House. 1992 - O’Donnell Industries acquires Lichelle Manufacturing of Greenville, South Carolina, to assure its capability as a top quality, made-in-America pet products company. 1995 - Snoozer introduces the Ortho Lounge, a high-density, convoluted (egg crate) polyurethane foam bed for aging pets. 2000 - Snoozer receives U.S. Patent for its Lookout® series of booster car seats. 2003 - Snoozer adds high-density polyurethane “memory foam” to certain manufacturing processes. Memory foam provides the comfort of a soft mattress with the supportiveness of a firm one. 2004 - Marketing relationship established with Romac Export, a management company representing U.S. and Canadian manufacturers in Western Europe, Japan, Australia and Southeast Asia. 2006 - Snoozer introduces microsuede fabrics to its product lines. Microsuede is desirable for its soft yet durable feel, water resistance, machine washable and dryable, wide variety of colors and patterns. 2006 - Snoozer signs an agreement as the exclusive distributor of pet mobility products manufactured by Travelon, a Chicago-based luggage and travel accessories company. Travelon acquired all intellectual property rights for the line from Global Pet Products. 2006 - Snoozer introduces Odor Adios™ — an 8-square-inch pad of activated carbon fabric that adsorbs the strongest pet odors. Included free with rectangular and round pet beds, plus the Cozy Cave, Luxury Sofa, Pet Couch, Lookout Car Seats and Bolster Round Bed. 2007 - Snoozer receives U.S. Patent for its Console Lookout®. 2007 - Snoozer introduces fashionable messenger bags and purse-style totes for small dogs. 2007 - Snoozer introduces a vest-style Car Safety Harness (patent pending), crash tested to the same standards as a child safety seat.
